Wale's logo stood out to me much more than many other rappers logos. He tends to support a motif about a casual, intelluctual lifestyle. Somewhat that of a college student. Most college students wear sneakers rather than dress shoes, so this design has sneaker laces crafted into it. Another great script style type design.

Citizen Cope album cover

When I was younger one of my favorite things to do in art class was using stencils to create words. It's always a creative way to manually and creatively adjust type. As I got older, I had used stenciled type less, but I've still been interested in its design abilities. The Citizen Cope album has a great design and the type compliments it greatly. The guerrilla advertisement motif is supported by its 'hand-set' look and the military type and graffiti attribute of the type. The color is not as invoking, but I think this concept is unified and well composed.

The Android logo font is very much appealing to me, as well as the design. I think it could have some contemporary concepts that depict some features about today's robotics and computers. Computers and robotics these days seems much less rigid than of the modern era, when computers were much less like humans. Now the technology is designed to mimic human behavior so that humans and computers can interact much easier. I think this concept is worked into the text of the logo by its curved characters. They do still retain their formality, they're mostly straight and sans serif. The color is the only confusing aspect for me. I'm not sure why bright green is appealing for a company that deals with computer technology and communication, but they probably have a reason.

Young Money logo

I wish I would've considered this for my wordmark project, I think I could've altered it and still make it effective. I already love the script font in it; it adds to the overall balance, because the 'entertainment' is a modern serif font with a more professional look to it and the Y and M are stylized into something like a mix between a serif and script font. On to my favorite part, the interpretation of the design. The Y and M are completely reminiscent of the New York Yankees logo. I think they are meant to symbolize the financial potential of the company by giving notice to New York's(the city) vast wealth. In my opinion it's a very successful design and advertisement.

I saw this font around the time I first heard the song it's named for last September. I'm still a big fan of script like fonts, so this one was appealing to me. It has an obvious color scheme, because the the objective elements of the song. It's effective so that it doesn't contrast with the theme and audience members won't be confused about the colors. I think the font is effective. It's kind of like a circus font, which could represent a "showtime" theme, which is very popular for hip hop music in contemporary times.

Meijer Organics font

The Meijer Organics logo is one I'm very familiar with. The typeface that stands out to me the most is their recently developed Organics typeface. I probably have some biased positive support for the "organics" motif, however I think the goal of this typeface is translated really well. It's a very elegant script font with very little weight. To me, it has a very natural quality, which emphasizes the topic. It also has contrasts with other parts of the logo. The Meijer type is a very plain, professional sans serifs font, which sits right on top of the much larger Organics type. This gives the Organics type a heavier feel, possibly to advertise some of Meijer's business intentions. Another subtle ingredient to the design deals with the color, which is something only artist might recognize. With most other "Eco-friendly" companies you might see a big bright green logo, because bright green tends to catch the eye very well. However, Meijer has excellently and accurately stated how natural green-colored type should be. Its logo type color is a fairly dark tone of green, which has much more natural appearance than saturated green.
All of these things make this typeface effective and very attractive to consumers.
